Luckily, there are many ways to develop courage. Even though there are different meanings, most researchers agree that it has three main parts: a purpose and a goal that may help other people. For example, a student stands up for a friend who is being verbally abused by a Bully by asking the Bully to stop. This action could have consequences other than physical or social.

But courage doesn’t mean looking dramatic or bold. We show it in both loud and quiet ways. Actually, ‘‘personal courage’‘ or actions that are brave in the minds of the people who do them, is different from ”general courage”, which is how others see your action as confident or bold.

It depends on how you know the task you’re facing and the fears that come with doing certain things. This means that Some of us may need a lot of personal courage these days to get out of bed and face the day.

Even though everyone has courage, it is sometimes diminished because of bad memories or situations. You need to be brave to do well in any situation in life, like meeting someone of the opposite sex or leaving your stable job to start your own business. But you can boost your confidence in any area of your life by figuring out what makes you lack guts and changing the way you act.

Embrace Your Fears

Getting in touch with your fear is one of the best ways to become more Brave. Whether it’s public speaking, cold calling, or selling a new idea to your boss, please write down the things that scare you and make a promise to face them. You will feel more solid and brave the more you face fear.

For example, you are afraid of taking the mock exam, talking to the opposite sex that does not welcome you, and job rejection. Develop courage and a complete plan to work on one by one.

Imagine Yourself as Courageous

If we call ourselves courageous, we are more likely to act or behave courageously. To put it another way, tell yourself, ” I am brave as I walk alone in the darkness. ” It could be anything that makes you feel fearless. We can also write down and name all the brave things we have done in the past.

For example, when you think about how your struggle as a child affected your relationships with coworkers or students now, how you got through college as a single mom, or how you have learned to deal with long-term health problems, you may feel better about reconnecting your values and beliefs, which can lead you to act bravely in the future.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone 

One of the most important things I learned as part of the Be Braver Practitioner program was how to get out of my comfort zone with the help of others. I realized I wasn’t alone. It was so important to see what had worked, understand the steps we had all taken, and, most importantly, celebrate that. It was so much easier and more fun for all of us to do this together.

Always Do Your Best

Having courage at work also means sticking with something. When our fears go away, we’re more likely to keep trying to learn, even when things get hard. You can also learn, watch, and imitate perseverance (or persistence) as a character strength. Babies as young as 15 months old tend to copy people who are persistent in their efforts to reach a goal.

Sharing our weaknesses while reading a hard book, our self-conscious feelings while planning a timed essay, our stops and starts while working on a word problem, and our promise to keep going can have a big effect on how hard our students work.

The study shows that teachers’ “growth mindsets,” which means they think that intelligence changes and grows with effort, may affect how their students develop their own. A more positive and open-minded attitude can help kids do better in school, improve their health and social skills, and even encourage them to be kind, helpful, and prosocial. All of these advantages also make us more likely to act bravely. 

Take Risks & Accept Failure

Taking risks is a good way to develop courage. Some of those risks will pay off, while others may not. Being willing to take challenges and deal with the possibility of failing can help you feel more confident and brave in the future. Just leave your safe zone; it will help you feel more confident. Be smart about the risk you take and move slowly.

Think about it this way: if you are scared of heights, slowly build up your courage there. You can walk up to a 3-meter diving board and look into a pool, or you can climb the stairs to the top of a small house. You don’t have to jump out of an airplane to get over your fear of heights and become more Brave.

Accept that no matter what you do, you will fail. Being able to accept failure and move on after it happens can help you maintain your courage and continue taking calculated risks.

Failing is a necessary part of building your bravery and improving your business, leadership, and sales skills. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes or face setbacks; instead, see them as a chance to learn and grow. Think about your mistake, figure out what went wrong, and use that information to guard your choices and actions in the future

Being Vulnerable is Not a Weakness

Accepting that being valuable is not a weakness; it can happen to anyone. Not knowing everything is also okay. In today’s world, being weak or vulnerable gets a bad name. It is often shown as something we should stay away from and as a sign of weakness, especially in leaders. I have seen this happen in many people when they talk about not knowing everything.

It takes courage for a person to accept that being vulnerable is okay and that no one has all the answers and to encourage more questions and more talk. This shows that this is how the company works and that it inspires others to do the same. You don’t need to know everything about a thing or a person.

Look After Yourself

To build confidence, you need to take care of yourself. You can handle stress and take on new tasks better when you eat well and keep your mind and emotions in check. Self-care activities like exercise, meditation, healthy food, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques are at the top of your list to boost your confidence and resilience.

Problems Or Learning Opportunities?

The problems that come up in your life can be used to your advantage. Take this in this week and make yourself feel braver and more sure of yourself. Many people know the story of Nelson Mandela, who chose to change South Africa after a tribal elder told him that being a second-class citizen would mean he was not a man.

Using Mandela’s example of how to turn a problem into an asset can help you find the strength to get past your issues. One example would be if you have an injury that makes it hard for you to play some sports. You can get a lot more prayer by finding a way to change how you play a sport you want to do.

Take The Road Less Traveled

Take the path that only a few people have taken. To go down the path of being a less Traveler, you have to be willing to take chances and act in a way that is different from what other people do. Being brave means sticking to your beliefs even if other people don’t agree with you and going in unexpected directions.

For example, you want to open a school for kids in the Ruler Valley of Nepal instead of going to Law School after college. You should do what it takes to make your dream come true. Going your way takes a lot more guts than doing what your friends and family may want you to do.

Spend Time With People Who Will Support You

To build your courage, you need to be around people who will support you. Find people who believe in you, work with you, and are friends with you after your goals. When you have a network of people who support you, you will feel more confident and ready to take on your challenges.

Sometimes, it’s hard to see the bravery or honor in yourself, but you can see it in others. If so, here are some important things you might want to ask yourself:

  • What do I like about myself?
  • Why should people “stand for” me?
  • What is important?
  • What are some of the things I’ve done well?
